Australian rosters named for upcoming World Lacrosse Super Sixes event in Canada

Australian Sixes head coaches Adam Sear and Katrina Dowd have today named their respective rosters ahead of the upcoming World Lacrosse Super Sixes event in Ontario, Canada on October 10-12.

The squad will head to Los Angeles for a training camp before descending on Oshawa for what is expected to be an electric, fast-paced, and high-scoring tournament showcasing the best in international talent as the road to LA28 continues.

Men’s Sixes head coach Adam Sear, said that this team had been built around athletes who are dynamic, versatile and disciplined.

“The group reflects players who are ready to step into the Sixes format and are willing to handle the responsibility of taking the first step in what will be an incredible journey for our program,” said Sear.

“I expect us to play with a high level of situational awareness and IQ, and this will allow us to adapt quickly and showcase our best in a challenging environment and schedule. We’ll face top-level competition, which is exactly what we want. It’s the right environment to test ourselves and put our best foot forward at an international level.

“I’m looking forward to this group coming together and competing in Oshawa. The time in LA is also huge for development and exposing our athletes to an international schedule and experience, while connecting with the Olympic conversation and where the sport is headed globally.”

Women’s Sixes head coach Katrina Dowd, fresh off a bronze medal-winning performance at The World Games in China in August, said that it was really important to create opportunities for a wide range of athletes.

“We’ve brought together players who have been at the top level for years, alongside emerging athletes who are eager to test themselves on the international stage. That mix keeps our group competitive while also building the depth that Australian lacrosse needs for the future,” said Dowd.

“This team has a healthy balance – athletes with international caps who know what it takes at this level, and others who are stepping into this environment for the first time. That blend not only strengthens our performance now but also ensures the next generation gets the experience they’ll need as we look ahead to LA28 and Brisbane32.

“We’re thrilled to be holding a training camp in Los Angeles before heading to Canada. To train in the city where lacrosse will make its Olympic return is incredibly motivating for the athletes and staff. It’s a reminder of the bigger picture and the opportunity that lies ahead for Australian lacrosse.”

Our squads will depart for Los Angeles on October 1 for training camp which will include a tour of UCLA and some exciting LA28-related opportunities.

The World Lacrosse Super Sixes event will be held at Oshawa Civic Fields in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada from October 10-12.
