Lacrosse Australia welcomes the launch of the Olympian Futures Fund
Lacrosse Australia is proud to acknowledge the launch of the Olympian Futures Fund by the Australian Olympic Committee — a significant investment in the future of Australian athletes and the sustainability of high-performance sport.
The Fund represents an important commitment to supporting athletes across all stages of their Olympic journey, recognising the dedication, sacrifice and financial pressures that often come with pursuing excellence at the highest level. The initiative includes Team Selection Payments for athletes selected to Olympic teams from Milano Cortina 2026 through to Brisbane 2032, targeted grants to support athletes returning to elite sport following childbirth, and retirement support recognising athletes’ long-term contribution to the Olympic movement.
Lacrosse Australia CEO Anna Carroll said the initiative also presents an important opportunity to celebrate a landmark moment for the sport.
“The Olympian Futures Fund is a powerful acknowledgement of the realities faced by elite athletes, both during their competitive careers and beyond,” Carroll said.
“Initiatives like this help create more sustainable, inclusive and supportive pathways, allowing athletes to focus on performance while also being supported as people.”
At Lacrosse Australia, we understand the demands of elite sport and the importance of long-term wellbeing, financial security and opportunity. This initiative aligns strongly with our commitment to supporting athletes not just in competition, but throughout their broader sporting journey, and especially with our sport’s Olympic inclusion for LA28.
We congratulate the Australian Olympic Committee on the launch of the Olympian Futures Fund and are proud to stand alongside the wider sporting community in supporting Australian athletes now and into the future.
