Inaugural Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame class announced

Lacrosse Australia has today announced its inaugural Hall of Fame class, with 21 men and women to be officially inducted during a special ceremony at the upcoming Major League Sixes event in Adelaide on November 13-15.

The Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame (ALHOF) was established in order to recognise the exceptional performance of athletes at World Championships, World Cups, and National Carnivals, as well as the outstanding contributions of individuals who have driven the growth and development of lacrosse in Australia.

Lacrosse Australia Chair Abbie Burgess-Brice, said the announcement marked an historic moment for the sport nationally.

“It’s a proud moment that gives us a way to celebrate our game’s greatest contributors, and strengthens the legacy and impact of lacrosse across Australia,” said Burgess-Brice.

“The creation of the Lacrosse Australia Hall of Fame ensure that every contribution – whether as a player, coach, official, or volunteer – is valued and honoured as part of our collective Australian story.

“The members of this inaugural class truly inspire all of us, and especially our next generation. Through their excellence, leadership, and lifelong dedication to the sport, they are trailblazers who paved the way for where we are today.”

Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame Selection Committee Chair Graeme Hobbs, said the inaugural class represented the highest calibre of excellence in Australian lacrosse.

“The inaugural inductees in the modern era were chosen after giving careful consideration to nominees who played over a period spanning 63 years of lacrosse in Australia. The fact that only 17 were chosen from this era is an indication of their quality.

“This class symbolises the sport’s enduring global impact. Over the past 63 years of Australian lacrosse, Australia has been very competitive on the world stage. The inductees have all played a significant role in achieving this status for Australia.”

The inaugural 2025 class comprises 21 inductees with 17 from the modern era, three from the Hickory era, and one legend.

Inductees will be formally honoured at the inaugural Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame Gala Dinner on Friday 14 November, coinciding with the Major League Sixes event in Adelaide, in what promises to be a landmark celebration of both history and the future of lacrosse in Australia.

Tickets will be made available to the public in due course.
