2022 National Events Update

Lacrosse Australia would like to take this opportunity to share further updates regarding our 2022 National Events, in particular, the Men’s Box National Championship and the U15 National Tournament.

Lacrosse Australia in conjunction with Member Associations (MAs) have been monitoring the current border restrictions and opening plans which have been implemented by each state government. Following continuous review and consultation with MAs, LA has decided to shift the planned Box National Championship from February to 10-13 March 2022. Shifting the event will provide certainty regarding border restriction requirements, allow all MAs to attend and will provide more time for travelling teams to plan and prepare their travel arrangements.

We thank our MAs for their engagement and support while working through this decision and we look forward to hosting our first national event in March 2022 at the Altona Lacrosse Club at their new Box Court facility.

Lacrosse Australia is pleased to announce that Wembley Lacrosse Club (WLC) will be the host of the 2022 U15 National Tournament. WLC plan to host the event, which will be held 28 Sep – 4 Oct 2022, at the HBF Arena located in Joondalup, WA. The HBF Arena facilities were recently used by LWA for the Sixes National Lacrosse Series, and we are excited to hold our national event utilising the Football oval and stadium. We thank WLC for their commitment and support so far and we look for to working with them and all their volunteers to deliver a great event.

If you are looking to attend one of our events or travelling interstate and need accommodation, take advantage of our partnership with Quest who are offering the lacrosse community 12% off bookings. Visit their website to making a booking or find out more.

Finally, moving forward, to assist with the planning perspective of travelling teams, allow hosts ample time to seek out and apply for grants to support events, and, to provide plenty of time and notice for families & players to plan for National events, we are aiming to have hosts appointed 12 months out from National Events and we look forward to working with and engaging potential hosts.

Full list of National Events can be found below.
