Men’s Field Support Staff Announced Ahead of World Championship Qualifiers
Lacrosse Australia has today announced the appointment of its coaching and support staff for the 2026 Asia Pacific Championships, the qualifying event for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Field Championship. The announcement follows the completion of a high-performance selection camp in Adelaide, with further team appointments to be made in due course.
Head Coach Glenn Morley will lead the program alongside newly-appointed assistant coaches Adam Sear and Robert ‘Henry’ Lawson with Lara Clarke joining the staff as Team Manager, with Morley describing the group as a strong blend of technical, cultural and relational strengths.
“Our coaching group brings a terrific mix of experience, connection and genuine pride in wearing the green and gold,” said Morley.
“The staff know each other well, work naturally as a team, and share a strong cultural focus that complements their technical expertise. They care about the players, they care about the jersey, and they are committed to pushing Australian lacrosse forward.”
West Australian Adam Sear, current Head Coach of the Australian Men’s Sixes team, will oversee the offensive unit. His involvement in the Sixes pathway provides valuable continuity for several athletes preparing to transition into the field format.
Head Coach Glenn Morley said that Sear’s communication and clarity made him a strong addition to the program.
“Adam has a terrific ability to communicate the game in a way that players immediately understand,” said Morley.
“He has been central to shaping Australia’s offensive identity through the Sixes program, bringing confidence, energy and a strong team-first approach. His work provides genuine continuity for the group as we move into this campaign.
Sear said that the opportunity carried both professional significance and personal meaning.
“Being appointed as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator is a tremendous honour. Any time you contribute to an Australian national program, you feel the privilege and responsibility of representing your country,” said Sear.
“Working alongside Glenn and Henry is genuinely special. Glenn has been a close friend for years, and Henry brings the same high-performance mindset. Together, I believe we can create an environment where our athletes truly thrive.
“This group has a unique blend of talent, competitiveness and character. With several athletes already connected through the Sixes pathway, we have a strong identity to build from as we push the program forward.”
South Australian Henry Lawson joins the senior field staff fresh from leading the Australian Men’s U20 Field team to a bronze medal at the 2025 World Lacrosse U20 Championship in South Korea – Australia’s first podium finish at the tournament in more than 20-years.
Morley said that Lawson’s recent global experience will be an invaluable asset.
“Henry comes in off the momentum of a bronze-medal performance with the U20s, and that recent international experience is incredibly important,” said Morley.
“He’s got a sharp defensive mind, reads the game early, and adjust structures with calm, measured clarity. He adds a layer of insight and connection that strengthens our defensive identity and overall preparation.”
Lawson said that he was eager to continue contributing to the men’s national program.
“I’m excited to continue my involvement with the Australian men’s field program alongside Glenn, Adam and the entire staff. With a blend of experience and emerging talent, it will be a privilege to work with this playing group as we pursue qualification for the World Championships.”
In the final appointment for the program, West Australia Lara Clarke will take on the role of Team Manager for the 2026 campaign, bringing extensive experience in coordination, athlete support and program logistics.
Morley said Clarke will play a central role in establishing the team’s off-field standards.
“Lara is exactly the type of person you want leading the off-field operations of a national program. She’s organised, calm under pressure, and builds trust quickly. Her ability to create a supportive, focused environment will have a significant impact throughout the campaign.”
Following the successful Adelaide selection camp, the coaching team will continue to refine the squad and prepare the program for the qualification pathway and build-up to the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship. The Asia Pacific Championship and qualifier event will be held in Wellington, New Zealand on January 6-11, 2026.
