Call for Nominations to LA Board

Pursuant to clause 24.1(1) of the Lacrosse Australia Constitution, Lacrosse Australia are now calling for nominations to join the Lacrosse Australia Board as elected directors from the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM). It is anticipated that the Lacrosse Australia Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday, 13 April 2026 (notices to be issued in the coming weeks).

The Lacrosse Australia board is made up of up to nine (9) directors. The exact term of an elected director’s tenure can range from no less than two (2) years to no more than three (3) years (to ensure Board balance).

Lacrosse Australia directors are primarily responsible for the provision of strategic direction to the sport of lacrosse and its stakeholders with there also being an expectation that directors assist in the management of Lacrosse Australia by taking responsibility for the oversight of portfolio(s) within LA’s operational framework.

The LA Board is seeking to elect up to four (4) dynamic and strategically minded Directors who will strengthen and diversify the capability of the Board. Preference will be given to candidates from outside the lacrosse community, ideally with experience in a National Sporting Organisation (NSO) or comparable sport administration environment. We note that separate to this process, Lacrosse Australia will also be looking to appoint one (1) independent director at a later date.

The Board is particularly interested in individuals who demonstrate a strong understanding of grassroots sport development and participation pathways, combined with broader system-level insight into governance, strategy, and sustainable growth.

In addition, priority attributes include either:

  • Fundraising/Partnerships/Sponsorship - Proven expertise in philanthropic fundraising, corporate partnerships and sponsorship, with the capacity to unlock new revenue streams and commercial opportunities; or

  • Government Relations - Strong government relations experience, with established networks and the ability to advocate effectively, influence policy, and secure funding outcomes; or

  • Information Technology / Digital Skills - Experience in IT and/or digital industries with an ability apply new technology to the sporting and not-for-profit industries

All successful candidates will bring independent perspective, strategic thinking, and influential networks to support LA’s long-term growth, visibility, and sustainability.

All applications will be reviewed by the Nominations Committee with all candidates being put to an election by the Members Associations.

In order to stand for election, all interested candidates will need to do the following by 11.59pm (AWST), Monday, 16 March 2026
